Ive Stumbled Upon...

->Taken from Google images

I have recently learned how to use what is called Stumbleupon.com. This website in my opinion, was made to distract college students from doing their homework. I have spent countless hours of my day "stumbling" on things from pictures of puppies, to vacation homes. I have found recipes for Marshmallow Fondant that would never interest me unless I was procrastinating on a paper or blog of some sort.

Aside from it being completely distracting, stumble upon is a fantastic idea. It literally gives you a list of all different topics that you are interested in and it will pull up those websites when you press stumble. It is completely customized to your interests. One of the best things that i have stumbled upon are the adorable pictures of animals that give us a warm and fuzzy feelings.

I have found incredible music for every mood i could possibly be in. This one website opens up the door to a limitless amount of fun and interests for all of those people, like myself that just cannot figure out youtube. Ive learned how to make newspaper in to a fashionable hair piece. Where else could some one find that website, if it weren't for stumble? My whole internet world it now changed dramatically. I can access so much more now with the help of stumble. Although it is a huge distraction from getting done my homework, it some times can give me the exact information i may need for the task at hand. This is an incredible video i found with the help of stumble that i never would have found otherwise.

Famous People to Normal People

                           "Obama's at Home" Provided from People.com

People Magazine has been around for as long as we can remember. Its the best magazine for those days when all you want to sit in your pajamas and pretend to trade lives with the many celebrities on the cover.

Not only does people magazine give a detailed description of celebrity life, it is all so considered to be a lifestyle. Inside the glossy pages are tips and secrets for everything from beauty to how to find out if this guy is right for you.
                                              ->"Compatibility" Cartoonstock.com

On the website, People provides a tab for video's of the latest news. This video is the "2009 sexiest men", which People magazine does every year and devotes 140 pages of sexy men, as well as sexy women.

People really gets in touch with the Limbic part of our brain, as well as the Neocortex. The magazine is made up of pictures and very large writing to catch the readers attention. People is all so experiencing a epistemological shift. All, if not more of the material that is provided in the magazine that costs $3.99 can be found on the internet for FREE!

People has been known for leaving out certain bits of information to make their story more convincing depending on the angle that they want to portray. This is called "reality construction/trade-offs". Meaning, what stories are they leaving out and why? This question pops in to my head as I flip through the glossy pages to read my horascope for the day, but is quickly pushed to the back of my mind as a picture of Billy Ray Cyrus is basically screaming at me for attention.

Even though i truly love being lazy, staying in my pajamas, and pretending that i was in the glossy pages of People Magazine, it might not be for everyone. People can be a lifestyle to some, bringing famous peoples lives down to the level of normal people like ourselves, and to others it is just 140 pages of gobblygook.

Half Time Horror

                                          "Half Time Show" -> Provided from YouTube.com

Approximately 111 million people tuned in to watch the 2011 Super Bowl, Black and Yellow (Steelers) vs. Green and Yellow (Packers). Fans anticipated an intense, thrilling game, but did not anticipate the ghastly performance at half time by the Black Eyed Pea's. Back in the days of Elephunk and Monkey Business, BEP was a great new "phunky" band, however, they managed to ruin my expectations of them in this last performance. Let's start with the costumes, they LIGHT UP. I understand that we are in the age of technology, but really, that is over the top.

As the four belted it out on the stage, the field around them was filled with glowstick people dancing in the shape of arrow keys. I am not sure if they kept pointing at the stage so that the audience stopped looking at the ground out of embarrassment for them, or if they were actually part of the act.

The only female group member of the Black Eyed Pea's the G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S. Fergie. I have honestly never seen this pop princess perform worse. In 2005 in San Diego Fergie actually peed pants while on stage.

What makes me so angry about this Half Time Show was that Fergie absolutely ruin "Sweet Child of Mine" by Gun's n' Rose's. This song may never sound the same to me again. Her vocals throughout the entire show were either too loud or totally off key. I could not have been more disappointed.

What saved the hole show was Usher's appearance at the end to perform OhMyGosh. "Oh My Gosh, i have to save this half time show!". The good news is that the third and fourth quarter of the rest of the Super Bowl had every one at the edge of their seat with a three point game for the Packers. This totally put the Half Time Show Horrors out of our minds.

The World at my Fingertips

                -> Hi, I'm Chloe.<-

        ->I live in Monkton / South Burlington, Vermont. I am very family oriented. I have a younger sister, a younger brother and a foreign exchange student from Frankfort, Germany living with my family in Monkton. She is almost like a second sister!  I love to snowboard in the winter, it keeps me healthy and it is so much fun. I get better and better every year. Music is a big part of my life. Nothing can calm me down, bring me up or put events in to perspective for me like music can. I have been through a lot in my short life, but it has made me who i am today and i am proud of that. I am determined, intuitive and genuine.

-> Watching the ball drop on New Year's was a great media experience for me. Usually i am out with friends for New Year's, and i don't every watch the ball drop. This year, i stayed home and took this experience as a good time to learn about the work that must go in to putting on this show.

      -> I like that everything we could ever want is at our fingertips with just a  click of a button but it has made us lazy and has made us always want more.
